Mizuno, in the past two release cycles, went from returning to the putter market and hoping to catch some eyes to being a tremendously popular option in the milled putter segment. In fact, I have no apprehension in saying that the M.CRAFT putters have been nothing short of fantastic in form, function, and finish.

For 2022, they are expanding the line again with three new models, the Mizuno M.CRAFT OMOI 01, 02, and 03.

Read on to get all the details.

2022 Mizuno M.CRAFT OMOI Putters

The root of it all here is heavyweight stability in traditional profiles, and creating a higher MOI design within the framework of an elegant looking visual as only Mizuno Golf can do. Before we dive into what makes them different, it makes sense to address the shapes first:

The OMOI extension is milled out of forged 1025 carbon steel just like the rest of the M.CRAFT options and when that is combined with their fantastic face milling there is sure to be no issues with the feel/feedback. Likewise, Mizuno is continuing to offer each model in three different finishes, their new Double Nickel satin, Blue Ion, and Black Ion.

So, what is different then?

Well, the weight. You see, Mizuno wanted to improve the overall stability for golfers seeking a higher MOI but to do it within the framework of a traditionally classic looking design. What their testing showed was increasing the head-weight while also moving to a lighter grip and shaft should move the clubs center of gravity and help produced a more controlled face rotation through the stroke.

How does this compare with the other M.CRAFT putters? That would be a 15g to 28g increase depending on the model when the putters are using the standard 8g weights in the sole. With that in mind, Mizuno is again including a full kit with each putter that have a pair each of 3g and 13g weights. This remains a cool touch from Mizuno to include the kits as it is something others are quick to charge extra for instead.

Each putter in the OMOI extension of the M.CRAFT lineup will be priced at $349.95 and hit stores and websites on March 17, 2022. Along with the three aforementioned finish options for each model, they will come standard with the new Lamkin OMOI SinkFit grip and chrome shaft. However, a “Black Out” option will also be available featuring a KBS Tour Black Ion plated shaft as well as a special blacked-out M.CRAFT putter cover.

Does the OMOI design of Mizuno’s newest putters catch your attention? Is it something you plan on finding to try or buy? Jump in to the conversation to let us know and rest assured much more will be coming with THP and Mizuno on this new release!

If I was going to do it, this might be the one. After rolling the demos more again today though, I’m going to hold. The changes are just the wrong combinations of some of my favorite features I think. I’ll be curious if they come out with 4, 5, 6.

I’m not best with a PN design, but, there is a lot of comfort to this one for me, and I can absolutely denote the balance point location in the stroke when I move to this from other sticks, I like that feel, but I know for some its kind of hit and miss.

The feel remains impeccable, and I’m not sure anyone has nailed that as well in a "stock" putter lineup like Mizuno has as far as milled designs go.

After a session this morning I’d agree on the feel. It’s right there if not above anything else that one would find on the floor of a big box in stock lineups. Rolled it against Ping, Betti, Callaway, and Scotty and it may have been my favorite feel.

They’ve been intent on nailing it since they brought the M.CRAFT line out, and I think they have done the "Mizuno Feel" legend well on these. They’re freaking addicting.

"We have been informed by Mizuno that they are having issues making the M.CRAFT OMOI Type III Putter 34" black. As of right now they do not have any expected date as to when these will be able to ship. I do apologize but we have just been notified of this."

Not a great look to not fill pre-orders.

Well, it is what it is. I’m sure that Mizuno would like to be able to fill the orders.

I have a few back-ups.

I have a head and will be shafting it up shortly. They look great in hand

What shaft are you installing? I am guessing it is the anser style head.

i am a fan of the double bend mallet.. I like it a lot.

Rolled one of these today.. The blue one… Oh my.

The satin looks really sharp in hand imho

Any idea what model that grip is? I loved the feel when I hit it in the store but forgot to look.

It’s a Lamkin Sinkfit Pistol. They feel pretty cool.

They have putter expansion goals throughout, but being that this line is so new, there is no update currently on when an extension would come.

probably next year if their past release schedule is any indication

Thanks. I like the feel of the OMOI putters better than the M Craft, but really prefer the IV model which is only available in the M Craft. I’ll sit tight for now. Lord knows I certainly don’t need yet another putter…….but the OMOI’s feel so good to me.

I have had the blue in the M Craft 4 for over a year and will say it looks as good as new. Have an OMOI 3 coming and also in blue.

Forgot to mention that I got the all black version. It looks killer.
